To reduce contamination risks to virtually zero, Solvay Injectables comprehensively applies state-of-the-art isolator technology. Two new, fully integrated lines enable filling of nested BD Readyfill® or BD Hypak® SCF syringes. At rates up to 18,000 per hour. These lines are particularly suited to products that cannot be terminally sterilized such as (recombinant) proteins. All our procedures and equipment fully comply with cGMP, FDA and EU requirements.

The Solvay Injectables filling process begins in our decontamination chambers. Tubs containing the syringes are loaded batch-wise in a fully automated process that guarantees reproducible conditions for each tub. During transportation to the robot section, the tub lid and Tyvek sheet underneath are peeled off automatically. Rotary piston pumps are used to fill the syringes and the plunger stopper is inserted at the same station immediately after filling.

Solvay Injectables syringe-filling capabilities can facilitate special projects by filling technical test batches, clinical trial batches and stability batches.
